Hopatcong resident Jason Lorenz was inducted to the Skylands Rotary Club this week.
 
Lorenz, a design engineer with MECA Electronics in Denville, was the fifth new member inducted into the 74-year-old Club this year. He was sponsored by Club Past President Mark Hartmann.
 
“I am really excited to be joining this amazing group of people,” Lorenz said. “I am really looking forward to being part of the Club’s Harvestfest.”
 
The Harvestfest is a charity event organized by the Club to support families and children.
 
Robert “Bob” Hathaway, Club Vice President & Membership Chair, said, “Our Club has grown more than 45% in the past few months. People in the communities we serve – Byram, Stanhope, Netcong and Mt Olive - are excited about joining Rotary to make a difference.”
 
Hathaway highlighted the Netcong Emergency Food Pantry and The Dictionary Project as well as $500 awards to 8th graders and $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors in local high schools as projects of the Club.
