Netcong resident Joe Nametko was named Skylands Rotary Club’s Rotarian of the Year at the Club’s officer installation in July.

Nametko, who is the Mayor of Netcong, was presented the award by outgoing Club President Ann Marie Milelli for his contributions to the Netcong Emergency Food Pantry.

“Receiving the Rotarian of The Year Award is a great honor to be recognized by my club and my fellow club members,” said Nametko. “Before becoming a Rotarian, other than my immediate family, I never gave much thought to putting others before myself. Since joining Rotary, I was given the opportunity to help many people by giving to the Rotary Foundation, feeding the hungry and helping with other club activities. I’ve found helping others is very rewarding. Being named the Rotarian of the Year is the icing on my cake.”

A Paul Harris Fellow, Nametko joined the Skylands Rotary Club in 2017.

At the same night, Rotary International District Governor Shelby Rhodes, who is also a member of the Skylands Rotary Club, installed the 2021-22 Club Officers. They are:
